A Few Videos of Fried Turkeys
I thought it would be interesting to show you guys a few videos on the actual process of deep frying a turkey. I know the instructions I give on this site are good, but it's a little tough to understand the process without seeing someone else do it, so here are two videos that will show you the process.
I thought the video brought up a few important things that you guys would be interesting. The first thing to understand is that this guy has safety gear. He is wearing safety glasses to help protect his eyes from any exposure to splashing oil. He also has gloves on too, which is definitely the most important. You don't want to have bare skin coming close to that oil. Lastly, take a look at what he's wearing. He has a long sleeve shirt and pants. Which means he's not in a t-shirt or shorts. He has his skin all covered up just incase there was some splashing. You should also be able to see the intense splashing and erratic behavior of the oil when you put it in. That is important to understand because this is what you're going to experience. That is why you have to cook it outside because the oil can be so erratic. Plus he's using propane, which you don't want in your house. |
